in Monetization

23 Best Ad Networks For Publishers (Updated for 2016)

Whenever someone talks about monetization, invariably, the first thing that pops up into the mind is Google AdSense. And while there’s nothing particularly wrong with that—it is, after all, the world’s largest ad network, but to sit on an assumption that AdSense can’t be outdone by anyone isn’t wise.

The ad tech industry is highly disruptive and it wouldn’t be a stretch to say that Google has competitors who give them a good run for their money.

It may take a lot of hit and trial to figure out which ad network, or even combination of ad networks, generate the highest revenue for you, but when you finally do figure it out—it would have been well worth the effort.

Here are a few networks that you must check out in 2016.

1. Adsterra Network

Adsterra is one of the fastest growing premium ad networks and currently serves over 10 billion geo-targeted ad impression each month. They support publishers from all verticals and guarantee 100% monetization of their ad inventory.

This strategy has helped Revcontent generate higher revenues, better engagement rates, and loyal audiences for their partners.

Which One is the Best for Advertising in India ?

    • Vishveshwar Jatain

Hi Rajesh, that’s really subjective… it depends on what your website publishes. You can get higher revenues with a network that specializes in your niche, doesn’t really matter if it’s an Indian or international network.

Yes but you forgot to mention Google Ad Exchange here. Google shares 68% of advertisement revenue with publisher in Adsense but in Google Ad Exchange ads the share that Google gives is 80%. Moreover, advertiser pool is bigger than Adsense in Ad Exchange. I have taken Google ad Exchange account from EboundServices. They are paying me more than Adsense for my blog.

    • Vishveshwar Jatain

Hi Jessica, we’re planning to do a separate post on AdX, thanks for bringing it to our notice 🙂

Can any one suggest me Tech support Ad networks !

    • Vishveshwar Jatain

Hey Shekhar, what do you mean by tech support ad networks? Almost all of them offer support. If tech support is your niche, I’m not sure there are any ad networks that specifically cater to it.

      • techexec

he means networks that will support popups that tell you your computer is broken or infected and to call him so he can rip you off… scum

  • Gianclaudio Moresi

    You can try WEB-SET Ads
The site must have very good content, located in USA/EU and a minimum of 30’000 visitors per month.

  • Bernard Arhin

I personally have tried both revenuehits and propeller ads and they work great. They really convert, but for bidvertiser and clicksor, they tend to have a problem with redirecting. When thier code are on you blog, they redirect a user anytime he or she clicks anywhere on the blog. Not cool at all.
But all praises for revenuehits because i have little content and also pretty much less traffic but its impressive, am imagining if i get to have thousands. You can check out my site http://www.ghscoop.com and see what am talking about

    • Vishveshwar Jatain

Thanks for your inputs, Bernard 🙂

    • techexec

The redirects are likely due to bad CPM ads creeping into the exchanges. At Adosia, we split out mobile and desktop chains. This enables our publishers to use different passbacks based on platform (mobile vs desktop). The key here is that publishers can drop your desktop floors as low as possible (to optimize revenue) while keeping your mobile tag floors above ~$0.40 – 0.45 or so. This will keep the bad / malicious ads from creeping in (ones that redirect to app stores, etc), because those bad advertisers typically bid below that threshold

    • Cool

I don’t get it why does everyone like RevenueHits, the ads are so spammy for a well polished website, and you can’t even chose targeted ads, or even high quality ads. What is so good about it?

      • Evan Davi

Will I am trying and see if revenue Hits Works With me or Not

  • SpiritPublisher_nyc

I would try Adsiduous. Started working with them beginning of July. Net 15 payments and they will work on whatever floor you decide and their fill started where the guy said it would. We’ve been increasing fill by 5% each week which usually i dont consider much but it’s been very consistent.

Have also used Undertone, was not disappointed. Wish they paid in shorter terms though. I prepay all my social campaigns and site costs so it can be tough.

I am launching a new web based football business and am looking for a company to push our ads to targeted websites. Do you have a recommendation for this? Thanks.

    • techexec

Facebook will likely provide you the cheapest CPC. Couple that with a retargeting campaign and a Facebook like campaign. You’ll want to make sure your ad footprint is good enough (yet unobtrusive) to cover your promotion costs though

  • shawn

hey,I’m bit confused with the list do you have any recommendation for tech support ? which one would be best ? and ofcourse they should be approving tech support campaigns

    • techexec

tech support campaigns are a joke… get original and provide real value. All you’re doing is hurting every publisher seeing this because that’s the type of crap that RAPIDLY facilitates adoption of ad blockers…

  • Jay

    Great article!

Do you know what ad networks would be best for a sports betting site?

Here’s the site for an insight http://www.footballtiphq.com/

  • Nice collection.
    Here my hotsite is

  • HOOTnani

Also… about this Media Nexus company that requires 5,000,000 plus incoming traffic coming in… does that mean the cpm payout rates are VERY High! like 30 – 50 per 1000 high…. How does that work?

  • A great list here, but why no native ad networks? Native ads will eventually replace banners and are the way to go if you don’t want to annoy visitors. Take a look at stackadapt.com and nativeads.com

  • Cheryl Taylor

Love your article, it’s proven very helpful for my research. Is there any Ad Networks that you would recommend for a site that wishes to choose exactly which advertisers are featured? Our site is owned by a well-known author & is spiritually based, with focal points on health, wellness, & personal growth. We are also in the process of releasing a sister site that will feature a blog & a few different health-oriented shops. Another Ad network I’ve found that’s not on your list is sovrn.com. Any thoughts on them?

    • Blasie Baca

Hey Cheryl ,, we too have a personal health / travel site, have you found a good ad company? All we have found are ones that place ads that don’t match our content .

      • Cheryl Taylor

Not yet Blasie, we’re still in the research phase. But as soon as we do or I find out more, I’ll definitely let you know what the results are! And if you come across anything in the meantime, maybe you could share that as well 🙂

    • techexec

It depends on your volume. If you can get into some of the larger exchanges (i.e., OpenX), then they will have the capabilities for you manage / whitelist brands on your own. If you have higher volumes, then a network will be more likely to accommodate your requests if they don’t provide an interface to do so.

This is certainly a great list Vishveshwar. However, I am a little bit surprised to not see Advertise.com in the list. I have tried 4-5 ad networks and found that advertise.com offer similar ad solutions with almost similar results and that too at lower prices especially for contextual advertisement. I hope you would consider adding that too.

I’ve been reading posts about how they keep your account on $0.00 after you’ve earned so much, then some say as soon as it comes time to pay they suspended their account and sent them an email stating they had low quality traffic? I’m a bit torn because I currently use this ad network and wanted to be certain I don’t add anymore ads to my site in case they do that to me. Has anyone else experienced this issue?

      Hi Laria!
I am also using MediaNet on my website http://www.biochempages.com. I am new to this and facing the same problem. For the past few days, there is impression in my control panel for that website but no RPM. And also, ads that are being displayed in my website contain a red text tag (saying advertisement) at the top left corner.

What I think is that they are optimizing ads so as to deliver best contextual ads on my website that are relevant to the users but i’m not sure. I am also afraid that what if they disable my account and how long will it show 0.00 RPM on my account.

      • Hmmmm.. Yes I have read that they take time to optimize ads. Some say it’s best to give them two months to straighten things out. I have also read they have suspended people’s accounts right before they were due to be paid but those were posts from years ago and I’m not sure if this has changed or not. I guess I will see how it works out for me

        • Yeah! lets hope for the best!

          • Hey! Thanks so much for the follow. I also wanted to say that I emailed my account manager and he did indeed say they had to optimize the ads so give it a while. All of the stats that said 0 were updated the same day and it seems to be working fine now. Hopefully when it comes to payout we won’t get screwed over lol

  • ADfits

Publishers need to stop chasing the CPM model. The new age of internet advertising will be based on answering the single most important question: “How many customers do you want?”. At ADfits, we’re building out a new ad network that’s based on gamification and rewards to help Publishers build loyal repeat traffic and generate more revenue than CPM based models in less time. No traffic minimums either!

how to generate pharmacy lead and what ads network help me?

  • RevenueHits and PropellerAds seem to be the ones that feed those horrible ads that pop up at your screen whether you want them or not. I have had a major problem in my website after using RevenueHits. Do not use them. And Adpushup, please take them out of your recommendations’ list. That is awful stuff! What a mess they have done to my website…
